b'WARSAW ULTIMATE TRANS-SIBERIAN EXPRESS |YOUR ITINERARY Days 1-4 - London, Berlin and MoscowWe meet in London and take the Eurostar to Brussels, continuing by train to Berlin for two nights. We enjoy an east meets west guided tour of the city on Day 2, admiring impressive Imperial buildings and learning about this once-divided city. We continue east on Day 3, travelling across the Polish border to Warsaw, where we spend the night. We delve into Warsaws rich and fascinating history on a guided tour on Day 4, strolling around the quaint Old Town and exploring the atmospheric streets lined with old merchants houses, craft shops, and cosy cafs. This evening, we board the overnight sleeper train to Russias capital, Moscow.Days 5-6 - MoscowWe arrive in Moscow, a lively city filled with history. If you select our fly KAZAN option, today you arrive in Moscow and join the group. On Day 6, we have a private viewing of the Tsars Armoury before visiting Red Square, seeing the iconic Kremlin, Lenins Mausoleum, and the rainbow domes of St Basils Cathedral. We enjoy lunch at Pushkin, a legendary restaurant with early 19th-century dcor, before a tour of the Moscow Metro System. Quite unlike any other in the world, the stations are filled with opulent chandeliers, stained glass, sculptures, and Art Deco finishings. This afternoon, we board the legendary Golden Eagle Trans-Siberian Express and begin our 12-night adventure to Vladivostok. We relax amidst the elegant surroundings as we journey towards Kazan.Days 7-9 - Kazan, Yekaterinburg and NovosibirskKazan, the capital of Tatarstan, is the first stop on our Trans-Siberian adventure. Nestled on the banks of the River Volga, the city is known for its ornate, multi-coloured architecture, including the cobalt onion-domes of its cathedral. We head out on a walk with a local guide before a delicious lunch of local cuisine. Later, we visit the Museum of Kazan ULAN UDE and the traditional Tatar district, before joining the Golden Eagle for our onwards journey. On Day 8, we reach a landmark point of our journey as we cross the Europe-Asia divide before arriving in Yekaterinburg. The city was founded in 1723 by Peter the Great and is famous for the Church of the Blood, which we visit today. The golden-domed church was built on the site where the Romanov family were murdered in 1918, and is dedicated to their memory. After lunch at a local restaurant, we return to the train and continue towards Novosibirsk, the capital of Siberia, arriving on Day 9. The city is the third-largest in Russia, but has the charms of a large town, with tree-lined streets and green spaces dotted amongst its Soviet-era centre. We have a guided tour, seeing Lenin Square and the Opera House, before settling down in a local restaurant for dinner. Back on the Golden Eagle tonight, we continue to Irkutsk.Days 10-12 - Irkutsk and Lake BaikalToday is spent on board, enjoying the scenery as we travel through the VLADIVOSTOK dramatic Sayan Mountains. This evening, we sit down to a special Caviar Dinner on board. On Day 11, we arrive in Irkutsk, an old merchant city and one of the most popular stops on the route of the Trans-Siberian Railway. Known as the Paris of Siberia, much of the citys cultural heritage came from the Decembrist exiles. We see their surviving wooden houses during a sightseeing tour, as well as the Decembrist House Museum. Our tour ends with a Champagne reception and private concert performed by talented classical musicians. Back on board, we continue our journey, heading towards Lake Baikal, which we spend the day discovering on Day 12. Endlessly blue, the lake is the largest freshwater lake in the world, as well as the oldest. We change to a steam-hauled locomotive for a journey that skirts the lake shores, before cruising to the village of Listvyanka, where we visit Lake Baikal Museum and Aquarium. Tonight, we enjoy a lakeside barbecue dinner, which includes traditionally smoked fresh fish from the waters of the lake.32 SCANDINAVIA AND RUSSIA'
