Nick Thompson

Customer Relations Manager

What I do

Manage the post-tour customer relationship including feedback, whether from correspondence or from the CSQs, and lost property and insurance claims. I advise the business on compliance-related matters such as DPA, PTR, and the ABTA Code of Conduct.


I've worked for the company for just over five years, having previously held a similar role in one of the big six energy companies. Passionate about improving the customer experience, I relish being able to work in a company that shares that vision. Outside of work I am a husband, father and grandfather of six, and with the little spare time left am a keen fan of rugby league, 1950s music and birdwatching.

Favourite rail journey

Geneva to Paris on the TGV. The train slowly makes it way through the snow-covered Alps, whilst eagles soar overhead, before picking up a fantastic rate of speed as it shoots across the plains of France.

Favourite GRJ tour

Tracks of the Deep South - it combines two of my great interests, the Southern States and the Sun Studios where rock'n'roll was born.
