Oliver Cromwell Holidays

70013 Oliver Cromwell is one of Britain's youngest steam locomotives, having been built for British Rail in 1951. It was originally situated in Norwich, meaning it often hauled services such as 'The Easterling' back in their heyday.

Oliver Cromwell is well known for being one of the four engines that each completed a leg of the last ever steam rail tour in 1968, very shortly before the withdrawal of steam services on British Rail.

On completion of the rail tour, the locomotive was immediately absorbed into the National Railway Museum's collection, and it was restored to haul trains again at the Great Central Railway in 2004.
