We cruise for 12 nights on-board the MS Nieuw Amsterdam, which
was launched in 2010 as the latest addition to Holland America's
cruise fleet. The superb facilities and features include
outside-view glass elevators, a cyber-coffee house and the
innovative Culinary Arts Centre, where you can watch cooking
demonstrations and take part in interactive classes. Designed to be
large enough to offer a diverse range of facilities while carrying
far fewer guests, the ship has nearly 1 staff member for every 2
guests on board. When the sun sets, you can make the most of the
on-board entertainment including casinos, cinemas and
nightclubs.
Cabins on board
Our accommodation is in K grade inside cabins which are equipped
with television, minibar, DVD player, safe and telephone. The
option to upgrade to a higher category of stateroom is available.
Prices are available for ocean view, balcony and mini-suite
staterooms. Please enquire when booking.
Dining
While on board you can enjoy traditional pre-set dining, or enjoy
the flexibility of 'As you wish' dining. The ship has a fantastic
range of restaurants to choose from during your time on board,
including the Pinnacle Grill, Cannaletto Italian restaurant, the
Tamarind pan-Asian restaurant and the Masterchef fine-dining
restaurant. A terrific selection of bars, located across the ship,
provides you with plenty of options to enjoy a relaxing drink
during the day and night including the Piano Bar, Ocean Bar, Sea
View Bar and Sports Bar.
Leisure & Sport
The ship boasts a range of sports and leisure facilities, including
the comprehensively equipped Fitness Centre (with daily aerobics
classes), swimming pools, outdoor hot tubs and much more.
Spa & Beauty
The Greenhouse Spa & Salon gives you a fantastic range of
options and offers the perfect peaceful space to relax and
reinvigorate on board the ship. A full range of massages and spa
treatments are available (payable locally). For extra relaxation,
there's a sauna, Hydro Pool, Therapy rooms and the Lido Pool, as
well as lots of deck chairs to relax in.
Activities & Entertainment
The on-board Casino provides an excellent opportunity to win some
money and enjoy a flutter on a variety of games, including
Roulette, Black Jack, Craps and Poker, as well as a selection of
slot machines. Visit the Showroom At Sea for nightly shows to
entertain any audience.
