A division of Great Rail Journeys, UK's leading operator of holidays by rail
The 4-star MV A-Rosa Viva was launched in 2010. The ship is lauded for offering something for everyone on board, and is equipped with modern comforts throughout.
Public rooms and facilities
The ship offers a superb range of on-board leisure facilities.
There is a putting green and shuffleboard on the Sun Deck, as well
as plenty of loungers, making it an ideal place to exercise or
simply relax whilst admiring the beautiful scenery of the Rhine
Valley. There are also three bars, including a bar on the Sun Deck,
the main bar and a day lounge/wine bar, as well as a comfortable,
modern main lounge for guests to enjoy.
For those seeking some rest and rejuvenation, there are also spa facilities on board including a gym, steam room, whirlpool and panoramic sauna. In the spa area a comprehensive choice of beauty and cosmetic treatments are on offer, including massages. Great Rail Journeys customers receive a 30% discount on spa treatments taken on board.
Complimentary bikes are available for you to use, so you can explore each port of call independently, although please note that some excursion are bicycle tours, and so these may not always be available.
Dining
During your time on board, meals are a huge and delightful part of
the holiday experience. The ship operates a relaxed dining policy.
This means you can dine whenever, and sit wherever, you like. Meals
on board the ship are usually lavish gourmet buffets, with chefs at
cooking stations preparing fresh food to your taste. A la carte
menus are also frequently available. The restaurant focuses
primarily on Mediterranean influenced cuisine with a continental
European touch. All of the meals consist of locally-sourced
ingredients wherever possible.
In addition, all drinks are served throughout the day on an all-inclusive basis.
Cabins
Our accommodation is in well-appointed, generous cabins on Deck 1.
These are all airconditioned and outward-facing, featuring a large
porthole window. They also have an interactive television, writing
table and seating, as well as a private bathroom with a shower, WC
and a hairdryer.
Upgrades are available to cabins on Deck 2 or 3; these are similar to those on Deck I, but also come with a French window.
