Built in 1995, American Queen is a six-deck recreation of a classic steamboat designed to work on the Mississippi. It is the world's largest steamboat, combining the best of old and new; all of the lavish cabins and spacious public areas are decorated in a vintage Victorian style, though the boat is also equipped with every modern convenience.
The American Queen offers many ways to relax, including a well-stocked library, the comfortable main lounge and the impressive Grand Saloon, where much of the entertainment takes place. For this cruise, the theme is the 'Music of the 1950s', a nostalgic journey back to the golden era with activities from that time.
Dining is also an important part of the on-board experience. The famed American chef Regina Charboneau creates an enticing array of sumptuous and varied dining options throughout the day. Wines and beers are also included with dinner.
The stylish rooms are en suite, and are all enhanced with many amenities usually found in cabins of this standard. They come supplied with complimentary bottled water and fresh fruit, as well as in-room Starbucks coffee. Our cabins are category G, Inside Staterooms on the Texas Deck - these feature twin beds and private bathrooms. Upgrades are available to category E, a Deluxe Outside Stateroom on the Texas Deck, offering a great view of the river. Upgrades are also available for category C, a Deluxe Outside Stateroom with a veranda on the Observation Deck. This boasts a marvellous view, from French doors that open onto the deck.
