Days 1-3 Edinburgh
Edinburgh

Edinburgh to Spean Bridge

Your holiday begins with your arrival in Edinburgh, for a 2 night stay at the 5-star Howard Hotel. Your time is free to explore this vibrant city and it's many attractions. Your sumptuous journey aboard the lavish 'Royal Scotsman' private train begins on Day 3. Among the best of the UK's luxury trains, Belmond 'Royal Scotsman' could be fairly described as the peerless archetype of classical UK rail travel. It is among the most exclusive of UK rail encounters - every season, only 2,500 travellers can experience the unique and opulent ambience of the 'Royal Scotsman', and it is thus considered by many to be an honour and a privilege to travel on her. Your all-inclusive package comprises breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. You will also enjoy a complimentary bar service throughout your journey, with an incredible range of whiskies on offer, as well as spirits, wine, beer, tea and coffee. An early afternoon departure today allows you to enjoy afternoon tea as you travel to Craigendoran. Passing some of the most sublime landscapes of Scotland, Belmond 'Royal Scotsman' skirts past shimmering Loch Lomond, and on to Bridge of Orchy, where she wends and weaves her way through the vast and wild Rannoch Moor. At Spean Bridge, the train stops for the night, allowing you the best opportunity for a peaceful night's rest. Enjoy a formal dinner, followed by lively entertainment provided by local musicians.

Day 4 Ben Nevis
Ben Nevis

Spean Bridge to Bridge of Orchy

This morning, the train continues west to Arisaig. Her route takes you past towering Ben Nevis and across the majestic Glenfinnan Viaduct so be sure to keep a look out for these enchanting landmarks. At Arisaig, you will disembark and here you can enjoy a romantic leisurely stroll along the idyllic Silver Sands of Morar. You then return to Fort William. This afternoon join a trip to Glenfinnan, historically known as the rallying point for Bonnie Prince Charlie and his Jacobite Rebellion, or join a guided hike to spectacular Steall Waterfall in dramatic Nevis Gorge. This evening, take an informal dinner as the train heads to tranquil Bridge of Orchy, her overnight stop.

Days 5-6 Edinburgh
Edinburgh

To Wemyss Bay and Edinburgh

Belmond 'Royal Scotsman' heads south through dramatic Highland scenery to Wemyss Bay this morning. Here you will board a ferry to the striking Isle of Bute, which boasts a fascinating geological, natural and historical heritage. You pay a visit the beautiful Mount Stuart, a Gothic Victorian house which arguably holds the fi nest private collection of Scottish family portraits. Return to Wemyss Bay and enjoy a final formal dinner on board. On Day 6, indulge in a leisurely breakfast as the train retraces her tracks to Edinburgh Waverley station, where your tour concludes.
