Exploring Venice

Your adventure continues by rail today, as you travel to the mesmerising city of Venice. On arrival, you check into your 4-Star hotel, where you stay during your time in the 'Floating City.' Perhaps explore the city's waterways by traditional gondola, or simply explore on foot. Although incredibly beautiful by day, Venice is even more enchanting by night. As darkness falls, sit back and watch the magic unfold in St Mark's Square as the sound of orchestras fills the evening air.

  • Breakfast
Days 5-7 Florence

The next stop on your holiday is the Tuscan city of Florence. Famed for its wealth of Renaissance art, a fifth of which is kept in Florentine galleries, Florence features a delightful collection of handsome piazzas and picturesque streets, perfect to discover on a gentle stroll. Pisa is within easy reach, so perhaps take a day away to visit the famous 'Leaning Tower.' Alternatively, charming Lucca is well worth a visit, for its quiet streets and quaint medieval feel.

  • Breakfast
Days 8-10 Trevi Fountain, Rome
Trevi Fountain, Rome

You arrive by rail into Rome today, the capital of Italy, known as the 'Eternal City.' Rome's architecture charts the passage of time as clearly as anywhere in Europe; with wonderfully preserved monuments from the early Romans and buildings with distinctive medieval, Renaissance and Baroque features. Take your time to soak up the ancient sights, and perhaps explore Vatican City, nestled within the boundaries of Rome itself.
