Days 1-3 Singapore

Your adventure begins with an overnight flight to Singapore. Arriving on Day 2, you are privately transferred to your hotel, where you spend the night. On Day 3, you board the iconic Eastern & Oriental Express for your two-night journey to Bangkok. Settle in to your private cabin and unwind, with views of the Malaysian countryside rolling past your window, before heading to one of the superb dining cars to enjoy your first four-course dinner on board this evening. Perhaps relax in the Bar Car or the open Observation Car this evening with a nightcap before retiring to your private en-suite cabin.

Day 4 Ubudiah Mosque, Kuala Kangsar
Ubudiah Mosque, Kuala Kangsar

Kuala Kangsar

After enjoying a Continental breakfast served in your cabin, the Eastern & Oriental Express arrives today in Kuala Kangsar, a Malaysian royal capital steeped in colonial history. Disembark here for a guided tour of the city's highlights, including the gilded Ubudiah Mosque, the Royal Museum of Perak, housed in a former palace, and the Sultan Shah Gallery, dedicated to the memory of Perak's 34th sultan. Return to the train and enjoy a relaxing afternoon at your leisure as you continue your journey to Thailand. A decadent dinner is served on board.

Days 5-6 River Kwai
River Kwai

The River Kwai and Bangkok

Late this morning, you arrive at the River Kwai Bridge station, where you alight and join a scenic cruise along this famous river with a local historian. Later, visit the War Museum, where parts of the original River Kwai Bridge are on display. Re-board the Eastern & Oriental Express in time for a final delicious lunch on board, before continuing to Bangkok, where your journey ends late this afternoon. Here you are transferred to your hotel, where you spend the night before returning the UK on Day 6.

Alternatively, you could extend your stay with additional nights in Singapore or Bangkok - or why not spend a few days relaxing on the beach at Koh Samui at the 5-star Belmond Napasai hotel which is nestled between verdant tropical gardens and the dazzling sea - prices available on request.
