Explore the Rocky Mountains the most scenic and relaxing way possible, by train. Travelling in SilverLeaf class for 2 days aboard the world-famous Rocky Mountaineer, you'll also enjoy a sightseeing tour of Vancouver, the best of Yoho National Park and 4-Star hotel accommodation.
Arrive in Vancouver and spend the rest of the day getting to know your new surroundings. Day 2 includes a guided sightseeing tour of Vancouver's North Shore. Travel across the Lions Gate Bridge, connecting the main city to the North Shore municipalities, before also crossing the splendid Capilano suspension bridge and heading into the surrounding mountains for an adventurous walk through the treetops. Continue to Granville Island, Canada's answer to Ellis Island, and sample some of the regional flavours at the local market. Here you can enjoy a leisurely walk along the waterfront, perhaps visiting some of the boutique shops and galleries.
Begin the first leg of your journey aboard the famous Rocky Mountaineer today. Boarding the train in Vancouver to enjoy unsurpassable views of the most dramatic stretches of the line. Keep your eyes open for Canadian wildlife as the magnificent train leaves the Pacific Coast and travels along the Thompson and Fraser Canyons, past the Cascading Mountains and enters the desert-like environment of Canada's interior. Arrive in Kamloops to rest and re-fuel before you re-board. Re-board the train on Day 4, continuing through the Canadian Rockies on a route that takes in the scenery of the 'First Passage to the West'. Pass over the Continental Divide before disembarking in picturesque Banff.
Experience the natural beauty of Yoho National Park, visiting the Spiral Tunnels, as well as Emerald Lake, known for its vivid colours, and a natural rock bridge that spans the Kicking Horse River. Your tour ends by the idyllic waters of Lake Louise where you rest in a local hotel.
Day 6 takes you to Calgary by coach, the home of the world-renowned Stampede. Find time to squeeze in a visit to the wonderful Glenbow Museum, just steps from the Calgary Tower, before heading home on Day 7.
Return flights to Vancouver and back from Calgary is not included in the from price per person as we know customers often want to travel from their nearest airport and may want to spend extra days either pre or post holiday.
