Arguably the heart and soul of Mediterranean Spain, thriving Barcelona has so much to offer. From fascinating architecture and tranquil gardens to a lively bar scene and world-class shopping, Barcelona offers a unique encounter and a rich history that captivates everyone who visits.
Your journey begins at St Pancras International where you board the Eurostar for the first leg of your journey; arriving into Paris just a couple of hours later. You cross the city to Gare de Lyon station to join the direct service to Barcelona. On arrival into beautiful Barcelona, you will check into the Hotel Catalonia Diagonal for three nights. Your hotel is conveniently based in the centre and adjacent to a Metro station for quick and easy access to the sights.
Whether you choose to start your exploration of Barcelona with a guided tour or prefer just to stroll through the colourful streets, it's impossible to visit Barcelona and not fall under the spell of renowned architect Antoni Gaudí. His unique style is intrinsically linked with Barcelona and many of his masterpieces can be found in the heart of the city. Perhaps start with the spectacular Sagrada Familia. Unfinished at the time of Gaudí's death, this incredible building is still under construction today and when complete will have a staggering 18 towers. Other Gaudí buildings you won't want to miss include Casa Milà, and Casa Batlló and those in the beautiful garden complex Park Güell. Many of Barcelona's other top attractions are conveniently clustered together in the Ciutat Vella ('Old City').
Today head to Barcelona's famous Las Ramblas where you'll encounter a lively mix of tourists, street vendors and artists buying and selling a wide selection of goods. Or for a relaxing day away from the city streets, head to one of Barcelona's beaches or explore further afield with an excursion to the majestic mountains of Montserrat.
It is time to bid Barcelona farewell as you retrace your route north through France, arriving into Paris at the Gare de Lyon. You will cross back to the Gare du Nord, where you board the Eurostar back to St Pancras International in London.
