The elegant caf dates back to 1919, and we sit down here for a luxury cream tea. Day 5 is Christmas Day, and the emphasis is on good food and relaxation. After a relaxed morning at our hotel, we're treated to a traditional Christmas lunch with all the trimmings. This afternoon is also free. Relax with a glass of bubbly, or wrap up warm and head out into Harrogate for a walk through the town's pretty gardens. This evening, we sit down to a festive buffet dinner in the hotel.Days 6-7 - Fountains Abbey and HarrogateWe visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Fountains Abbey. Set within a beautiful estate, these are the largest abbey ruins in the country. Each year there's a local Boxing Day Pilgrimage, with pilgrims making the four-mile journey from Ripon Cathedral to Fountains Abbey, before a candlelit carol service in the Cellarium here. After watching the lovely service, you're free to explore the grounds independently before we return to our hotel.
