Outward travel could be improved - see comments below.
A "more informed" guide for the Meersburg excursion i.e. one who didn't require a script!

Do not like leaving London after mid-day - it makes the first day very long. Usually stay over in London the night before. This time, left home at 6 a.m., but unfortunately it was the day of the fire which put Euston out of action. Gave us a real problem!
Only other concerns were with the coach driver who "abandoned" us a 15 minute walk from the hotel, with all our luggage (it was perfectly possible to get nearer), and the very poor local guide - Jinny, or Genny?
