London to Cologne

We meet at St Pancras at our dedicated Departure Office before boarding the Eurostar to Brussels. We continue by train, travelling to Cologne, where we overnight. Tonight, and on Day 2, you are free to explore the city's fantastic selection of Christmas Markets, with as many as six different Markets located across the city. Later this afternoon we board our ship, the MS A-Rosa Viva, setting sail towards Mannheim.

Some departures will instead board the A-Rosa sister ship, the A-Rosa Silva.

The Rhine Gorge and Mannheim

This afternoon we reach Mannheim. At this time of year, its centre is transformed by festively decorated stalls, each offering gifts and regional delicacies.

Day 4

We arrive in Kehl this morning, from where you can visit Strasbourg, the attractive capital of Alsace. The ancient centre is packed with half-timbered houses and narrow waterways for you to discover. Strasbourg also hosts a popular Christmas Market, which has been held around its impressive cathedral since 1570.

Mainz and home

We arrive this morning in Mainz, a Roman city famous as the home of Johannes von Gutenberg, the inventor of the printing press, and for its marvellous Romanesque Cathedral of St Martin. This has been the backdrop to Mainz's popular Christmas Market for more than 200 years. With more than 100 stalls to choose from, Mainz Christmas Market is a fantastic place to absorb the festive atmosphere, and perhaps enjoy a warming mulled wine. On Day 6 we arrive in Cologne, where we disembark and travel by train to Brussels. Here we join the Eurostar service to London.
