Discover the wild and wonderful Highlands at the height of the festive season. Experience the incomparable West Highland Line, discover the Nevis Mountain range, and warm up with a wee dram of whisky, all on a trip that showcases the best of Scotland at Christmas.


What’s included


Days 1-2 - Glasgow and Fort William

We meet our Tour Manager at our hotel in Glasgow today, where we enjoy a mulled wine on arrival, followed by dinner. On Day 2, it is Christmas Eve and we transfer to the station for our trip along the breathtakingly beautiful West Highland Line - one of the most iconic railways in the world. We travel to Fort William, then transfer to Ballachulish, our base for the next 4 nights. On arrival, we enjoy tea and cake, and this evening, we enjoy a festive dinner. We are entertained with live music, and there is also an opportunity to venture to nearby Duror Church for the Watchnight Service.

Day 3 - Christmas Day

After breakfast, there is a visit from Santa at our hotel, before free time to relax and enjoy a day of celebration. There is an option to go to a Christmas Day service at one of the nearby churches this morning. After a delicious Christmas lunch with all the trimmings, there is the chance to watch the Queen's Speech. You enjoy free time this afternoon to relax in the hotel or enjoy a walk around Ballachulish, before a traditional Christmas lunch and then an evening of Christmas films.

Day 4 - Nevis Range Mountain Gondola

Boxing Day is spent enjoying some of Scotland's most iconic past-times. We begin the day with a ride on the Nevis Range Mountain Gondola, which showcases some truly awe-inspiring views of the surrounding countryside. Travelling up the side of Aonach Mor, you can see a myriad of beautiful peaks and lochs that epitomise Scotland; including the highest mountain in the British Isles, Ben Nevis. After, we venture to the mountain cafe, and indulge in a tasting of Scotland's favourite tipple, whisky. We return to our hotel for dinner this evening, and enjoy a sherry reception and live music as we eat.

Days 5-6 - The West Highland Line, Glenfinnan Viaduct, and Glasgow

Today, we enjoy a journey along the West Highland Line, taking in the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct. On Day 6, we enjoy breakfast before transferring to the station for our journey back to Glasgow where our holiday comes to end. Here, you are free to depart in your own time, or explore this area independently.
