Spend Christmas in Inverness, with hearty food, warming drinks, entertainment and festive cheer. Enjoy the proud cities of Edinburgh and Inverness and travel through the yuletide scenery on beautiful rail trips.


What’s included


Days 1-2 - Edinburgh and Inverness

We meet today at our hotel in Edinburgh and in the afternoon you are free to explore Scotland's capital city. Day 2 takes us by rail across the iconic Forth Bridge, through wild and dramatic scenery to Inverness, passing Kingussie, Pitlochry and Aviemore on our way through the mighty Cairngorms.

Day 3 - Christmas Eve along the famous Kyle Line

Today is Christmas Eve and we enjoy a journey on the exceptional Kyle Line, a quintessentially Scottish railway which treks alongside misty lochs and looming mountains. Later, we arrive in Kyle of Lochalsh where we see Eilean Donan Castle, one of Scotland's iconic buildings. Back at the hotel, we enjoy a Christmas sherry reception with live entertainment.

Days 4-5 - Christmas Day in Inverness and Boxing Day on Loch Ness

Our Christmas Day morning begins with a full Scottish breakfast accompanied by Bucks Fizz. Afterwards, perhaps enjoy a walk alongside the River Ness before a sumptuous Christmas lunch at the hotel. Later, you may wish to toast the Queen's Speech with a dram or two before a festive buffet dinner this evening. Our entertainment tonight features Scottish music and traditional dancing.

Day 5 is Boxing Day, and we venture out to Loch Ness for a stunning drive along its shores. We stop off at the Loch Ness Exhibition Centre which details the long history and complex geology of the area, as well as a section dedicated to Nessie herself, the world-famous Loch Ness Monster. We return via Fort Augustus and Urquart Castle, enjoying the scenes of Loch Ness.

Days 6-7 - Edinburgh and homeward bound

We return to Edinburgh this morning, travelling through the spectacular scenery of the Cairngorms. After checking into our hotel, you have free time to explore and perhaps discover the attractions still decked out in their festive regalia. We sit down to a final evening meal and entertainment on our last night.

On Day 7, our tour concludes and you are free to depart Edinburgh at your leisure.
