Winter Sun Escorted Holidays

The winter season has many charms, but as the nights draw in and the temperatures begin to drop, often you begin to yearn for a bit of winter sun. At Great Rail Journeys we have a magnificent and varied collection of sunshine holidays which run throughout the winter season that are sure to appeal to you.

Exactly what the holiday itinerary includes can vary greatly between tours; you could be tiger-spotting on safari in India, exploring the frenetic city of Tokyo or discovering the world-famous Machu Picchu. But one thing they all have in common is a warm - or certainly very agreeable - climate during the UK's winter months. And whichever tour you take, you can expect the excursions to be complemented by free time for you to enjoy the sunshine if you wish.

Just as with all of our other tour collections, our winter sun holidays are led by a friendly and professional Tour Manager, and of course they include some fabulous railway journeys. Some of these, such as the Overlander in New Zealand, are picturesque daytime trips, that provide a fantastic insight into the country visited. Others like the Pride of Africa in Namibia are luxury hotel trains, which offer a different kind of rail experience. Many of these winter sun holidays travel to destinations outside of Europe and therefore depart the UK from an airport.
