Chur is the oldest town in Switzerland and is ideally placed for
exploring the south-east of the country thanks to its
excellent transport links. Whilst it is the end of the line for the
SBB main line trains, it is also a key centre for the metre-gauge
Rhatische Bahn that runs through to St Moritz, Davos,
Arosa and into Italy, as well as the Glacier

The 12th century cathedral is well worth a visit, combining
Gothic and Romanesque styles. The old town is grouped around
Martinsplatz with the arcaded Rathaus (Town Hall) dating from 1464
and St Martins Reformed parish church dating from 1491 to 1526.
There are many pedestrianised streets to explore through the old
town with a good selection of shops, or why not enrich your
mind at one of Chur's many museums?
