About the tour

Enjoy spring in the Netherlands, home to tulips, windmills, and waterways. Discover Delft, visit the Keukenhof Gardens, and explore Amsterdam with a guided tour.

What’s included

Days 1-2 - London and Delft

We meet at our Departure Office in London St Pancras, and travel by Eurostar passing through France and Belgium, and across the Dutch border to Rotterdam for the coach to Delft.

On Day 2, we visit the Royal Delft porcelain factory, where the distinctive 'Delft Blue' design is made. Here we can see the intricate designs being finished and painted. The blue and white pottery has been made here since the 17th century, and the famous colours were actually inspired by Chinese imported pottery and were used among European affluent families for years. During the Chinese civil war; however, importation stopped and the Dutch Delftware industry seized this as an opportunity to create their own designs. Today, the Royal Delft factory is the only remaining Delftware factory that remains. Following the tour your afternoon is free in Delft.

  • Day 1 - Dinner
  • Day 2 - Breakfast
Day 3 - Keukenhof Gardens

We take a coach trip to the incredible Keukenhof Gardens today. The gardens only open in the spring, providing an incredible seasonal display of tulips, crocuses, daffodils, and other flowering plants; millions of bulbs are planted each year and flowers of every hue sway in the breeze as far as the eye can see. Water features cascade through colourful displays of blooms and themed gardens delight the crowds.

Day 4 - Amsterdam

Today's excursion is by train to vibrant Amsterdam, where there's an included guided tour of the city's must-see sights. Major landmarks and hidden gems of the Dutch capital are brought to life, almost making it possible to imagine the city as it would have been in the time of Rembrandt or Anne Frank, 2 famous former residents.

Following our tour, you are free to discover this marvellous city at leisure. Perhaps you could take to the water and enjoy a cruise through the myriad of canals. Why not visit one of the city's superb art museums or delve into Amsterdam's diamond connections?

Day 5 - Return to London

Travel to Rotterdam by coach. Here, connect with the Eurostar back to London St Pancras where your journey comes to an end.
