Discover the very best of Cornwall as we explore this beguiling
county. From our base in picturesque Falmouth, we encounter
Cornwall's charming harbours and fabled Land's End, we discover the
enthralling Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan.
We begin our Cornish break in the pretty resort of Falmouth,
where we are welcomed at the luxurious Royal Duchy Cornwall hotel.
This is one of the finest hotels in Cornwall, set in its own
grounds overlooking Falmouth's sea front, and is a truly idyllic
base for our explorations.
Day 2 - Discovering West Cornwall
Today we are immersed in the beauty of Cornwall's west coast,
free to drink in the spectacular golden sands and seascapes as we
travel by train along the St Ives Bay Line. After free time in the
picturesque town of St Ives, we continue by coach around Cape
Cornwall, seeing legendary Land's End and Penzance, where romantic
St Michael's Mount enchants from the sea. This tidal island gets
submerged at high tide and gets cut off from mainland.
Day 3 - At leisure in Falmouth
Your entire day is free to explore Falmouth at leisure. Perhaps
visit the Art Gallery or the fascinating Maritime Museum, dedicated
to small boats and Cornwall's maritime heritage. You could also
head to Pendennis Castle, or maybe take in one of the region's
famous gardens such as the delightful Trebah Gardens.
Day 4 - Eden Project
Today we make a visit to one of Cornwall's most famous
attractions, the Eden Project. Situated in an old china clay pit,
this iconic landmark is a celebration of environmental
conservation. This afternoon, we make a visit to the fishing town
of Fowey. Its sheltered harbor was once frequented by privateers
and pirate hunters, known as the Fowey Gallants, who played a major
role in the Hundred Years' War.
Day 5 - Lost Gardens and Bodmin & Wenford Railroad
This morning we visit one of the most entrancing estates in
England. The former Tremayne Estate is home to the extraordinary
Lost Gardens of Heligan, which have been remarkably restored to
their former glory over the last 30 years. We take the famous
Bodmin & Wenford Steam Railroad on our return. At our hotel this
evening, we enjoy a farewell meal.
Day 6 - Homeward bound
