Itinerary
Meeting the Tour Manager at London St Pancras early this morning, your holiday begins as we board the Eurostar to Paris. From the French capital, we continue by rail to Hendaye in the far southwest of the country. We are then transferred by coach, just across the estuary and the Spanish border, to our base - the attractive coastal town of Hondarribia.
With historic plazas and traditional houses sporting brightly painted wooden shutters and flowerboxes, Hondarribia epitomises the charm and vibrancy of the Basque Country. After checking in to our central hotel for seven nights, we have dinner together this evening.

An excellent and very interesting holiday to a part of Spain and France unspoiled by tourists. Despite massive cancellations by Eurostar, GRJ managed to rebook our 40 strong party onto 2 flights to Bilboa the same day - a superb feat of organisation, and the friendly hotel provided food for the later arrivals at 1:30 am! Our organised days out were well thought out and included interesting diversions en route to see different parts of the landscape and our leader, Ros, who spoke Spanish and French obtained extra local information from our coach drivers. She also organised an evening meet up for a meal for the solos and others who wished to join in - a great extra for a solo traveller

I commend both our tour guides and GRJ for going above and beyond for resolving a very difficult situation before the holiday started with the cancellation of our Euro star. We were a group of forty to reorganise with alternative transport. We were treated very well at a difficult time. The holiday lived up to my hopes and expectations under the conscious and caring tour guide.
