Itinerary
Your central European rail holiday begins as you meet the Tour Manager at London St Pancras this morning, ready to board the Eurostar to Brussels. In the Belgian capital, we switch trains and travel to Frankfurt, from where we continue to Nuremberg. Our route takes us through lush countryside, past charming towns of romantic timber-framed buildings and alongside the winding Main River, arriving in the Bavarian city in the evening.
The historic city of Nuremberg has a beautiful Old Town dotted with medieval buildings and surrounded by fortifications. Some of the main attractions include the 11th-century imperial castle with its ancient towers and an incredible ornate fountain in the main market square. On arrival this evening, we have our first dinner together at the hotel, situated close to the station.
Please Note - For departure 8th June we will travel via Frankfurt, staying at the Intercity Frankfurt.

Enhance your holiday
Spending a night in London before your tour can make such a difference to the first day of your holiday - you can arrive in the capital in good time, relaxed and ready to join your Tour Manager the next morning. You may even want to take in a show on the West End or dine in one of London's famous restaurants. Perhaps on your return to London, you would like to break your journey with an overnight stay before continuing home.
We can book a wide range of hotels in central London or, for our holidays beginning with a flight, at Heathrow, Gatwick, or Manchester Airport for the night before or after your holiday. If you require a quote for single occupancy at any of the hotels, please contact us on 01904 734 805.
Buying tickets for UK train services can be a tricky business - there are so many fares to choose from, each with different rules and restrictions. As you are connecting with an international departure, we strongly recommend that you book a fully flexible ticket to ensure that should the departure times for your holiday change, your rail ticket can allow for these changes.
We can book fully-flexible UK rail tickets from your local station to join your holiday whether this be a European holiday from St Pancras or a UK holiday. The prices are competitive and tickets are not restricted to a particular train or time of day, and in most cases offer you a free choice of routes.
For an up to date quote from your local station, please ask one of our Tour Advisors.

An excellent tour leader in Steve Mulcahy and good local guides in the three cities. We found Berlin less interesting than the other two cities. We left Vienna feeling that there was more to see. Also we enjoyed Prague and would have preferred to spend longer there with less time in Berlin.

Excellent tour with a very knowledgeable and helpful Tour Manager. Not one for the faint-hearted as its full on and busy, moving from city to city. All hotels good and food excellent. Plenty to see and do in each city.

A fantastic tour. The itinerary was great, with amazing train travel through some stunning countryside and towns. The whole tour was managed smoothly by our tour manager, who was knowledgeable and friendly. In each city the guided tours helped to orientate you, and to enable you to make the most of the free time in each place. The hotels were all good, with good connectivity to the centre of each city. Generally (with one exception) the food was excellent. All in all, great value for money and a beautiful holiday. We will definitely be booking again.

Brilliant train tour to three totally different cities ! Our tour guide Lorraine was really warm, welcoming and really friendly. Always there for any help or advice. Nothing was too much trouble. The tour itself was really well organised from start to finish. Really friendly people on our tour. This was our 2nd tour with GRJ’s and hopefully won’t be our last!
