Itinerary
Your holiday begins when we meet our Tour Manager and the rest of our group at London St Pancras, before boarding the Eurostar service to Paris. In the French capital, we transfer to the high-speed TGV for a scenic journey through France to the Catalan town of Figueres.
From here, we have a transfer to our base for the next week - Roses, where we arrive late evening. This beautiful coastal town lies at the head of the Costa Brava in the Cap de Creus Natural Park, nestled between glistening sea and sun-baked hills. Our hotel provides a comfortable and relaxing base from which to discover this wonderful part of Spain, and, after checking in, we enjoy a light meal with our group following our later arrival.

The high-speed Eurostar trains link St Pancras International in London with Paris and Lille in France as well as Brussels in Belgium.
One of the few rack railways operating in Spain, the Núria Valley Rack Railway represents one of the only ways to access the Núria Valley besides boats and hiking. As such, it offers an opportunity to appreciate the serene beauty of the valley and its lake, without the buzz and contamination of traffic. The magnificent scenery is on full show here, with the water reflecting the greens and browns of the forests which cover the sloping mountainside.
Dressed up in cheery red paint, standing out against the dense green of the majestic Pyrenees Mountains, the Red Train of the Pyrenees brings out the best of this superb mountain range. Featuring open top carriages, passengers can fully immerse themselves in the scenery, taking in the brisk mountain air and admiring the mossy cliffs, deep valleys and noble peaks for which this region is justly famous. Known to locals as the Train du Pays Cathare et des Fenouilledes, the Red Train travels from charming Rivesaltes to the small village of Axat.

Before 11am, the light snack comprises breakfast pastries, yoghurt, fruit juice and tea or coffee. After 11am there is a choice of 2 main dishes and a dessert, accompanied by soft drinks, wine or beer and tea or coffee.

Spending a night in London before your tour can make such a difference to the first day of your holiday - you can arrive in the capital in good time, relaxed and ready to join your Tour Manager the next morning. You may even want to take in a show on the West End or dine in one of London's famous restaurants. Perhaps on your return to London, you would like to break your journey with an overnight stay before continuing home.
We can book a wide range of hotels in central London or, for our holidays beginning with a flight, at Heathrow, Gatwick, or Manchester Airport for the night before or after your holiday. If you require a quote for single occupancy at any of the hotels, please contact us on 01904 734 805.
Buying tickets for UK train services can be a tricky business - there are so many fares to choose from, each with different rules and restrictions. As you are connecting with an international departure, we strongly recommend that you book a fully flexible ticket to ensure that should the departure times for your holiday change, your rail ticket can allow for these changes.
We can book fully-flexible UK rail tickets from your local station to join your holiday whether this be a European holiday from St Pancras or a UK holiday. The prices are competitive and tickets are not restricted to a particular train or time of day, and in most cases offer you a free choice of routes.
For an up to date quote from your local station, please ask one of our Tour Advisors.

I had a wonderful holiday at Catalonia and little trains of the Pyrenees . Our tour manager (Penni) was excellent, always keeping us together no easy with (38 ) people. Hotel in good place next to beach, albiet food was ok, could be better. Our excursions were good plus my own experience on two land train trips. Plus a boat trip which Penni organised on her free day to Cadeques , beautiful place to visit typical Spanish designs. What more can I say! ??
