The main town is perched on a natural terrace that stretches along the top of dramatic cliffs overlooking the water. The narrow, cobbled streets feature a charming combination of Renaissance palace buildings and Romanesque churches. Lemon orchards cover the hillsides and farmland around Sorrento - the town is famous for its citrus products, such as Limoncello - a digestive made with lemon rind.

Sorrento itself is a charming relaxed town with a
colourful harbour, usually filled with fishing boats bobbing in the
breeze. The town's central square is an ideal spot to relax with a
drink and indulge in a favourite Italian pastime - people-watching.
On a clear day, the views from Sorrento include the city of Naples,
renowned Mount Vesuvius and the charming island of Ischia.
