Cape Town

Discovering Cape Town

Meet Your Tour Manager and the rest of your group at the Sun Square City Bowl hotel and spend the rest of the day settling in. On Day 2 we are introduced to Cape Town with a guided tour, taking in its highlights. We travel to the summit of Table Mountain by cable car (weather permitting), and visit the Diamond Works before an afternoon at leisure. On Day 3 we enjoy a tour of Cape Peninsula, discovering locations including the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, Chapman's Peak and Boulders Beach, home to its very own colony of African penguins.

Days 4-6 Knysna

The Garden Route

We journey to Oudtshoorn along the magnificent Garden Route, where we visit Cango Caves for a tour of the eerie caverns. On Day 5, we take a guided tour of an ostrich farm. We continue east, pausing in Sedgefield for a wine tasting and lunch at Benguela Cove. Later, we arrive in Knysna, built around a lagoon of the same name. On Day 6, we enjoy a scenic boat trip on Knysna Lagoon, reaching the Featherbed Nature Reserve where we disembark for a nature walk.

Days 7-8 The Pride of Africa
The Pride of Africa

To Durban and the Pride of Africa

We travel to Port Elizabeth on the final stretch of the Garden Route today. En route, we visit Monkeyland Sanctuary - the world's first free roaming primate sanctuary, as well as the Birds of Eden Sanctuary. Arriving in Port Elizabeth, we take an internal flight to Durban where we check into our hotel. On Day 8, we embark on a two-night adventure aboard the Pride of Africa to Pretoria, travelling through some of South Africa's most beautiful landscapes. We visit the ceramic collection at Ardmore Ceramics Gallery before continuing our journey north.

Days 9-10 Pride Of Africa

Nambiti Reserve and Pretoria

This morning we visit Spionkop Lodge, where we have a choice of two excursions. You could embark on an escorted tour of the historic battlefields, or enjoy a game drive in the Spionkop Reserve. Next, we head to the Nambiti Reserve, which houses the 'big five' game animals. We set out on an incredible game drive here, pursuing a look at lions, leopards, rhinoceroses, elephants and cape buffalo. We arrive in Pretoria, the seat of South Africa's government, on Day 10, where our journey comes to an end at the grand Rovos Rail Station.
