Touring Nepal - traveller's notes

Our escorted holidays touring Nepal introduce you to the highlights of this truly magnificent Himalayan country.

Touring Nepal with Great Rail Journeys allows you to experience the wonderful scenery, fabulous destinations and incredible wildlife while accompanied by a professional Tour Manager and experienced local guides.

The country is most famous for its mountain scenery, in particular Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world. However, there is much more to the country than climbing expeditions from Everest's base camp.

When touring Nepal you can visit the capital city, Kathmandu, with its intriguing Pagoda-style architecture and abundance of monks in traditional Buddhist robes who can be seen on the city streets. You can also explore the lush jungles and grasslands of Chitwan National Park, home to a stunning array of wildlife, including rhinos, sloth bears, crocodiles, leopard and more than 400 species of birds. It is also home to a significant population of tigers.
