Snaefell Mountain Railroad

The Snaefell Mountain Railroad is a 5 mile (8km) long electric railroad which connects the village of Laxey with the summit of Snaefell, the Isle of Man's highest point. During the 30 minute journey, passengers travel up gradients of 1 in 12 in delightful wooden-bodied railcars dating back to 1895. On the way up, passengers can enjoy fantastic views over Laxey Glens and on a clear day, it may be possible to see Ireland, Wales, Scotland and England. A cafĂ© at the summit offers you the opportunity to enjoy lunch and the stunning views at the same time!
