Digital Marketing Specialist
Location: Chicago, IL
The Digital Marketing Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day management and optimization of our SEO and paid search activities. This role requires a intellectually curious, highly analytical individual with the ability to think and act strategically. The ideal candidate is passionate about data, thrives in a fast paced, highly engaged environment and looks to challenge the status quo.
Responsibilities
- Execute integrated SEO and PPC strategies to increase qualified traffic, improve conversion and drive ROI
- Drive customer acquisition and attribution modeling efforts to increase the quality and quantity of sales leads
- Refine and execute paid media strategies across SEM, display, social media and retargeting to optimize spend
- Manage automated bid management and other campaign management tools
- Responsible for the ongoing evaluation and assessment of ROI on paid media; manage day-to-day budget decisions
- Support keywork research efforts to build authority across SEO & SEM
- Collaborate with marketing team providing keyword research, consulting on editorial calendar, influencing content creation and directing linking initiatives
- Formulate and execute test plans; leverage A/B and multi-variant testing strategies to optimize segmentation, messaging, landing pages to optimize campaign performance
- Perform backlink analysis and optimization; prospect for external links and build internal links
- Develop and develop regular and ad hoc analysis and reporting on business KPIs
- Analyze performance reporting, develop optimization recommendations and execute
- Provide input into monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts
- Evaluate current technology, systems, processes and tools and make recommendations to improve
- Assist in the definition of SEO/SEM projects and work closely with stakeholders to get them implemented
- Conduct regular site audits and reviews to identify and resolve issues
- Stay up to date with the latest innovations and competitive landscape; incorporate into the strategy
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing, engineering, math or business
- Minimum three years' success in a performance-based marketing role at an agency or ecommerce company
- Google AdWords certification and experience with 3rd party tools (Google Analytics, SEMrush, Marin) preferred
- Loves using data to drive decisions and proactively seeks opportunities to learn
- Articulates thoughts and ideas clearly, concisely, and persuasively (both written and verbal)
- Self-starter with hands-on approach and ability to multi-task
- An entrepreneurial-spirit and desire to help build a new function from the ground up
- Tech-savvy with advanced proficiency in Excel
- Travel industry experience preferred
