Peak Rail

Taking you back to a bygone era, the steam-hauled and preserved Peak Railway lets you discover the beauty of the Derbyshire countryside. The line has a rich history and was once part of the old Midland Railway Line, which closed in the 1960s. Taking you from Rowsley South Station to Matlock, the restored railway takes you through lush green meadows, immense woodlands, and rolling hills. Interestingly, the Peak Rail line forms part of the old Midland Railway's line between Manchester Central and London St Pancras which was sadly closed in 1968.
