Höllentalbahn

The Höllentalbahn when translated into English, means the Hell Valley Railway - don't let the name fool you however, this marvellous railway is one of the best ways to discover Germany's famous Black Forest in all its fairytale glory. Running between Freiburg and Donaueschingen, this 46 mile route curls in and out of the mysterious forest, having done so since 1887, and its highlights include the Ravenna Gorge and the Hirchsprungfelsen rock formation.
