Not connected with the Eurostar service using the Channel Tunnel, Eurostar Italia is the Italian high-speed service, linking most major cities. The dedicated high-speed lines run between Florence, Rome and Naples, Novara and Turin, Padua and Venice. On these lines speeds can reach up to 186mph (300kph). Tilting Pendolino tilt trains are used on other routes to complement the high-speed service and are capable of up to 155mph (250kph). Operated by Trenitalia, one of Italy's major rail operators, Eurostar Italia trains usually offer on-board refreshments and some also have a restaurant car with waiter service.
