Itinerary
Meeting our travelling companions and Tour Manager at London St Pancras, we board the Eurostar for a journey through the scenic French countryside to Paris. In the French capital, we change trains and continue to Strasbourg for an overnight stay.
The compact but captivating historic centre of this Alsatian city is dotted with grand squares and charming narrow waterways. Blending German and French architecture, Strasbourg's picturesque Grande Île is dominated by the incredible Gothic cathedral. Dating from the 13th century and featuring a façade of ornately carved portals, the cathedral is topped by a piercing, octagonal tower.
After checking in to our hotel in the centre of Strasbourg, we head out to a local restaurant to enjoy our first dinner together and savour the cuisine of the Alsace.

Very well planned and executed trip, with good variety (all on trains, of course) of experiences, excellent choice of hotels, with three nights in each; and a superb, efficient and helpful tour manager Atha, who kept us all moving in the right direction, with much talking, but discreet and effective control. Excellent holiday.

I couldn’t fault this holiday in any way. Everything was so well organised and our Tour Manager was brilliant. The hotels were very good, the scenery beautiful and panoramic train journeys were marvellous. Highly recommended!

It was a brilliant journey from start to finish. The train connections worked like clockwork and the hotels very comfortable. Every view was breathtaking and a feast for the eyes. It was my first Great Rail Journey but it won't be my last !
