Day 3 Neuschwanstein Castle
Neuschwanstein Castle

Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau

The wonderful castles of Bavaria are some of the most famous in the world thanks to their fairytale design, wonderland landscapes and cinematic heritage. Our day today is spent visiting two of the finest, beginning at the glorious Neuschwanstein Castle. One of the most iconic in the world, famously the inspiration for Walt Disney's logo, Neuschwanstein is magnificent building, built into the mountains and standing proudly above the surrounding forests, its turrets and halls a resplendent white against a backdrop of green. We enjoy a guided tour here, before going on to visit this castle's smaller but no less charming cousin, the honey coloured Hohenschwangau Castle.

  • Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 4 Zugspitze Railway
Zugspitze Railway

The Zugspitze Railway

Today we ascend the tallest mountain in Germany, the noble Zugspitze. To reach the summit, we first board the remarkable Zugspitze Railway. An impressive feat of engineering, this delightful cog railway hugs the mountainside as it trundles through the forests and along the cliffs of the Zugspitze, providing sumptuous views of the Bavarian panorama. The final leg of this journey is taken by cable car to the top of the mountain. On arrival, you have time before we return to the hotel, stopping at the beautiful Lake Eibsee to admire this stunning natural wonder

Your time today is your own as you discover more of Füssen, its well-preserved medieval walls and its chocolate box surroundings. The nearby St Mang's Abbey is well worth a visit, as is the opulent Linderhof Palace and the stunning Lake Forgensee which are just a short journey away.
