STATEMENT FROM GREAT RAIL JOURNEYS CONCERNING TRAIN INCIDENT IN INDIA

Great Rail Journeys (www.greatrail.com) confirms that there has been a train incident in India involving one of its escorted groups. 

Very little is known at present but Great Rail Journeys' local representatives are at the scene of the accident and a number of people in the group have been hospitalised. 

Great Rail Journeys is sending three senior members of its team to the scene on the first available flight departing today, together with a qualified counsellor.

The company was established over 30 years ago and this is the first train accident in which it has been involved. 

An updated statement will be issued only when more information becomes available and can be verified; the situation at present is unclear.

The tour, India's Golden Triangle, departed for India on 10th September and was due to finish on 22nd September; the cost per of the trip was £1,795 per person.  Great Rail Journeys, based in York, takes in the region of 2,500 people to India annually.
