Our Premium Collection features all of the components that have made our holidays so successful, but generally operates at a higher overall level with more inclusions. These tours feature First Class rail travel from the beginning of the tour through to its conclusion as standard - ensuring that you will always be in the very best seating available on the train, regardless of the length of your journey.

Similarly, the hotels used on our Premium tours all offer outstanding 4 or 5 star accommodation, with impeccable service levels. As with all of our tours, each of the hotels featured has been carefully selected for their excellent locations. But these hotels have also been hand-picked for other unique qualities.

In addition to the fantastic First Class rail travel throughout the holiday, many of the tours in our Premium Collection also feature journeys on some of the world's most famous trains, such as the iconic Glacier Express. Others feature journeys - sometimes for several days - on glamorous private trains, like the luxurious Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, or El Expreso de la Robla. “We were downgraded on the Glacier Express because of overbooking. This was not the fault of GRJ. At the last minute we were reinstated for most but not all of it. It meant we had to travel on later trains to the group. The train journey from Cologne to St Moritz was tiresome and involved changes of stations, trains etc due to the problems on German Rail. This was not the fault of GRJ. However, the journey took 13.5 hours. Our tour guide was brilliant, he did his utmost to get us there as quickly as he could. He was constantly cheerful no matter what was thrown at him. He is a credit to GRJ. Overall the holiday was superb. Lovely scenery, hotels.

“Excellent tour manager coped the issues thrown her way. Hotel food not so good. would have paid for extra night in Nurnberg and Berlin if that was available. Would have perferred to go direct to Berlin rather than visit Spreewald.

“I very much enjoy the holiday but my enjoyment was spoiled by the fact that two people who clearly were unsuited to a holiday which involved changing trains and with a 700 metre walk over cobbles to get between the nearest coach pickup point had apparently been told that they would have no problem with this holiday. It also involved our rep. and another passenger taking their luggage for them.

“As always, a successful holiday. Only one hiccup - as a Gold Customer I did not expect the worse room in the hotel. I overlooked railway track with trains thundering by - and just on the other side of the track there was a multi storey car park!!!!
