Lake Como Escorted Holidays
Located in the foothills of the Italian and Swiss Alps, beautiful Lake Como is Italy's deepest lake. Set within picturesque, almost fjord-like scenery where towering mountains fall steeply to the water's edge, Como and the region enjoys a mild climate. This makes holidays to Lake Como a fantastic prospect for much of the year.
We have a number of Lake Como holidays, where you can discover the incredible landscape that has inspired writers and artists from Pliny the Younger in the days of the Roman Empire to the 19th century Romantic novelists such as Byron, Flaubert and Shelley.
On our tours to Lake Como we explore a number of the area's many and varied attractions from our base in Cadenabbia. Our excursions take in elegant villas such as the Villa Carlotta, which once belonged to Prussian royalty, and a number of the delightful towns and idyllic villages dotted around the lake's shores. These include Bellagio, known as 'the pearl of the lake' for its charming location on a dramatic peninsula, and Varenna - dominated by its ancient castle. We also enjoy cruising across sparkling Lake Como itself - a fantastic way to absorb its wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. Of course, we also visit places of interest close to the lake, such as the ancient walled town of Bergamo in the foothills of the Alps and Lugano town, with its wide promenades running down to Lake Lugano.
