Itinerary
A journey of ever-changing scenery and spectacular vistas lies ahead as your expedition begins today at Chicago's Union Station. As you arrive, join the Tour Manager and your group of fellow travelers in boarding Amtrak's Empire Builder for an overnight journey toward Big Sky Country in Montana.
The train follows a westward route out of the city's mosaic of skyscrapers and into the serene fields of the Midwest. Each mile allows anticipation for the postcard-worthy views that lie ahead in Glacier National Park. From rugged mountains, kissed by eternal snow on the highest peaks, to expansive glaciers, crystalline lakes and wildlife roaming freely, there is much to uncover in the coming days.
Light meals and refreshments are available for purchase in the Empire Builder's Cafè Car as you settle in for the evening.
Should travelers wish to depart from Seattle or points in between, they may do so and meet the Tour Manager and group upon arrival in Glacier National Park. Overnight train.

Amtrak's Empire Builder follows a 2,200-mile route connecting Chicago, IL, and Seattle, WA, or Portland, OR. This iconic journey highlights America's cityscapes and natural beauty as it follows a pioneer route through the Northern Prairies. While the scenery is spectacular throughout, one of the most impressive portions comes as the Empire Builder passes by Glacier National Park.

Trip was great. Lodging at glacier park lodge was awful. Like the history of the lodge, but did not like our room- could hear all noises from people in rooms on either side of us.

Glacier Park Lodge, East Glacier Park Village was beautiful and had the "lodge" feeling everywhere. The food was spectacular, far beyond what I would have expected! All of the staff were pleasant and very easy to engage. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

Several things on this trip that were promised were not fulfilled. The red jammer buses did not drive the entire length of “The Going to the Sun” highway. We did not visit the Many Glacier area or hotel. Additionally, there was way too much free time on this trip that could have been used for exploring areas of Glacier National Park we had not seen.

Itinerary and description not accurate. Not a well planned trip, especially for the cost!

Rooms are in desperate need of updates. Front desk staff barely friendly. Information desk people nice. Dinner fabulous but buffet breakfast often needed restocking, coffee too. Ice cold plates for hot buffet food. Had to move rooms at 3 am due to plumbing issue. Offered no compensation or even help to move luggage 2 flights up. There is no elevator. Lobby and grounds beautiful. Just visit, don’t stay. Poor value.
