Great Rail Journeys have more than 45 years' experience providing rail-based tours to the UK, Europe, and all around the world. We are dedicated to providing excellent customer service and have a passion for travel that results in many of our customers returning for subsequent tours and recommending us to their friends. Great Rail Journeys welcome every kind of traveler, our packages are suitable for solo travelers, couples, and also small groups.

All Great Rail Journeys tours are accompanied by an experienced Tour Manager who is on hand to assist throughout the trip and to oversee our planned excursions. Taking an escorted tour by train, is possibly the most stress free way of exploring the world.

We offer escorted tours by rail and we appreciate that many of our customers have never been on an escorted tour before, nor have they ever traveled as part of a group or embarked on a vacation by train, but we believe that the journey really is just the start of the adventure. This is why we travel mainly by rail.

Trains are the most spacious and comfortable mode of long-haul transport, as well as one of the greenest and most sociable. On a train, you can simply sit back and relax, watching the ever-changing scenery through the windows. Or you can stetch your legs, walk about, and perhaps enjoying a conversation with your accompanying travelers.

In addition to Tour Managers, we also use local guides to ensure that you discover all the local secrets you might miss if you were traveling on your own.
