Itinerary
Your holiday begins at London Gatwick or Manchester, where you meet the Tour Manager and your group of travellers before flying to Bari. On arrival in this city on the east coast of Italy, we transfer by coach to our hotel on the outskirts of Monopoli - a relaxing all-inclusive base ideally situated for exploring this charming part of Italy.
Our hotel is surrounded by pine forest and is just 50 metres from a white sandy beach. After checking in, you might like to take in the views from the hotel or beach before we join for dinner at the hotel this evening, with drinks included, as they are between 10am and 10pm each day.
*Please note: the following hotel facilities are unavailable during the low season (01/04 - 24/05 and 21/09 - 01/11): Private beach with sunbeds & parasols and entertainment. However, the free beach is still accessible

The trip started off badly at Gatwick Airport where the rep was standing with the "Great Railways" clipboard against her body and not obviously trying to gather the group together. It improved when the Tour Manager arrived and took control. When we arrived at the hotel I was impressed by the accommodation but not necessarily by the variety of the food. The trips were very interesting but could have included a visit to some Roman excavations within a couple of miles of the hotel and visible from the bus on return from Lecce. The Tour Manager, Gary Burney, coped extremely well with a problem outside his control when youth football teams arrived and created chaos overnight. This seriously upset some people but the noise did not disturb me and I agreed that the Hotel was at fault for not considering the possibility of incompatibility between the groups of guests. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the trip probably enhanced by the interaction with other members of the party.
