About the tour

Enjoy all the New Year cheer that Yorkshire has to offer based in the Spa town of Harrogate. Our tour includes festive rail journeys on the North Yorkshire Moors and Keighley & Worth Valley Railways, a visit to Howarth's Bronte Parsonage, picturesque Fountains Abbey and the medieval city of York, adorned with seasonal decorations.


What’s included


Day 1 - Harrogate

Make your way to Harrogate, where our Tour Manager will be waiting to greet us at the hotel. You are then free to get acquainted with the spa town of Harrogate, renowned for its independent boutiques and glorious gardens.

Days 2-3 - North Yorkshire Moors Railway and York

We travel by coach to Pickering today, where we board the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. We savour an unforgettable Christmas Moorlander lunch on board, as the train makes its way through the North Yorkshire Moors National Park before returning to Pickering.

We travel to York on Day 3, where we take a fascinating walking tour, seeing some of the city's ancient sights, including York Minister and the medieval Shambles. This afternoon, you are at leisure before a 3-course New Year's Eve dinner.

Days 4-5 - The Keighley and Worth Valley Railway and Harrogate at leisure

A fascinating excursion awaits us on New Year's Day and we travel by coach to Ingrow. After seeing the Ingrow locomotive museum, we continue to Keighley. Aboard the heritage Keighley and Worth Valley train, we embark upon a short and picturesque journey to Oxenhope. After alighting, we transfer by coach to the Brontë Parsonage Museum, home of the Brontë sisters. We explore the museum at leisure before returning to Harrogate. In the evening, we are treated to a gala buffet New Year's dinner. Day 5 is at leisure and we enjoy afternoon tea at our hotel.

Keighley and Worth Valley Railway
Days 6-7 - Fountains Abbey and homeward bound

Today we take a coach excursion to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Fountains Abbey. Set within a beautiful estate, these are the largest abbey ruins in the country. You are free to explore the grounds and gardens independently before we return to the hotel. Our tour ends on Day 7, and you are free to depart at your leisure.
