Day 1

Arrive in Glasgow

Meet your Tour Manager at the Indigo Hotel in Glasgow today. Be sure to arrive a little earlier to take in some of the sights of this captivating city.

West Highland Line
Day 2

West Highland Line to Oban

We take the spellbinding West Highland Line today, from Glasgow to Oban. This railway line has been voted countless times as one of the most scenic in the world. On arrival in Oban, we take the coach to our hotel, the majestic Stonefield Castle. The castle itself dates back to 1837, and is set in 60 acres of delightful private woodland gardens, overlooking Loch Fyne.

Day 3

At leisure & Stargazing at Stonefield

We enjoy time at leisure to relax at Stonefield Castle today. Perhaps enjoy exploring the extensive grounds at your own pace, strolling through the charming wooded surrounds, or discover the tranquil shores of Loch Fyne itself. We enjoy afternoon tea at the hotel before our stargazing experience this evening. A local astronomer hosts a talk about the night sky in this ideal location, which benefits from very little light pollution.

Day 4

The Springbank Distillery

We take a coach to the Mull of Kintyre today, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and island of Jura. You are free to find lunch in Campbeltown before our afternoon visit to Springbank Distillery, which has been family-owned and run for five generations. We enjoy a dram of the distillery's 10 year old whiskey during our visit - a delightful taste of Scotland.

Day 5

Inveraray Jail & Cruachan Power Station

We take the coach to Inveraray Jail today. A Category A listed building and former courthouse from 1820 to 1889, it is now a living museum. Later we continue on to Cruachan Power Station, set amongst some of Scotland's most attractive scenery. The turbine hall is situated one kilometre underground inside Ben Cruachan, and represents a fantastic feat of engineering. The power station has a Visitors' Centre which attracts 50,000 people a year. Cruachan started being built in 1959 and was opened on 15th October 1965 by Queen Elizabeth II. On arrival back at our hotel we enjoy a whiskey tasting.

Days 6-7

Return to Glasgow

We take the coach to Oban today, then take the train back to Glasgow. You have more time to explore Glasgow before departing at your leisure on Day 7.
