We depart London on our flight to Seattle, arriving later that day. On arrival, we check into our base for the next three nights, the Mayflower Hotel Seattle.

The following day, Day 2, begins with a guided sightseeing tour of the city. Seattle is one of the more well-known American cities, and its skyline is characterised by the instantly recognisable Space Needle, built for the 1962 World Fair which was held here. We begin our tour in Pike Place Market near the seafront, which is known for its huge array of wares and stalls, before continuing on to visit lively Chinatown, a frenetic tangle of streets filled with the enticing aromas of Chinese cuisine. Our tour also takes in the Pioneer Square Historic District in the heart of the city, known as the first neighbourhood in Seattle. Your afternoon is then free to spend as you wish; you may choose to gaze across the city skyline from the heights of the Space Needle (payable locally).
