What’s included

Itinerary

Day 1 - London to Rome

Fly from London Gatwick to Rome Fiumicino, arriving in the afternoon. A private transfer awaits, ready to take you to the luxurious Palazzo Scanderbeg. Just two minutes' walk from the Trevi Fountain, the hotel is a convenient and relaxing place to base yourself for the next three nights.

Day 2 - Rome

What would a visit to Italy be without getting to know the nation's world-famous cuisine?

Today is the first of many opportunities to do so with a gourmet walking tour around Rome. Sampel a variety of street foods - pizza and pasta of course included, alongside lesser known delicacies such as courgette flowers, suppli and many delicious pastries.

Ideal for first-time and return visitors to Rome alike, the tour is a great way to take in some of Rome's famous ancient sights whilst gaining a deeper knowledge of the region's specialties.

Day 3 - Naples and Pompeii

Delve into Roman history with a full day tour of Naples and the hugely important archeological site of Pompeii, all via luxury, air-conditioned bus.

Covered in ash after nearby Mount Vesuvius erupted, Pompeii is perhaps the best preserved set of Roman remains in the world. Explore via guided tour, with skip-the-line entry and a reserved area in the archeological site so you can make the most of your time there.

After lunch and a local limoncello tasting, head to Naples for a sightseeing tour of this lively, historic city before returning to Rome.

Day 4 - Rome to Sorrento

Switch the bustling, chaotic streets of the Italian capital for sandy beaches and a more relaxed pace of life as you journey to sunny Sorrento, next to the famous Amalfi Coast.

Transfer from your hotel to Rome Termini rail station before boarding your train to Naples Centrale, enjoying premium class seats en-route. A private transfer awaits on your arrival, ready to take you to your base for the next three nights, the Grand Hotel Capodimonte in Sorrento.

You have the next two days free to explore this charming resort town and its idyllic surroundings.

Day 5 - Sorrento

You're free to explore Sorrento and the surrounding area at your own pace.

The Amalfi Coast is known for its fresh produce, and nearby Naples is, famously, the birthplace of the margherita pizza. Foodies will enjoy the range of farm experiences, tastings and cooking classes the area offers as a result.

You could also spend some time getting to know the local wine scene, perhaps by booking a day's vineyard tour - the perfect marriage of wine tasting and gorgeous views out over the Neapolitan countryside. Look for a tour that offers a lunch with wine pairings for something special.

Day 6 - Sorrento

On your final day, you could choose to relax on one of many nearby beaches, or stroll along the seafront in search of fresh seafood.

You could also explore more of the stunning Amalfi coast via guided tour. The colourful villages of Amalfi, Positano and Ravello offer views out over crystal blue seas - once you're there you may never want to leave.

Another option is to book a boat trip out to the island of Capri, taking in the famous Blue Grotto en route. Some operators will even stop at hidden coves to allow passengers time for swimming and snorkelling.

Day 7 - Sorrento to London

Take a private transfer from your hotel to Naples International Airport to catch your direct flight back to London Gatwick.
