Meet your Tour Manager and the rest of the group at the 4-Star Mercure Oxford Eastgate hotel, where we enjoy dinner together this evening.

Day 2

Blenheim Palace

Today we embark on an exclusive guided tour of Blenheim Palace, the elegant mansion is the birthplace and ancestral home of Sir Winston Churchill. This evening, for Christmas Eve, there is an option to attend a traditional Midnight Mass ceremony at a local church in Oxford.

Day 3

Christmas Day in Oxford

Christmas Day is at leisure, you may like to relax in the hotel and make use of the excellent facilities, or alternatively take a walk into Oxford and explore this charming city at this festive time of year. Later, we enjoy a traditional Christmas lunch together at the hotel.

Day 4

Exploring Oxford

Boxing Day begins with a guided tour of historic Oxford, taking in the city's main sights including the world-renowned University buildings and the Old City centre. Your afternoon is then at leisure to further explore this historic city. Christ Church Cathedral and the iconic Carfax tower building are particularly worth a visit.

Waddesdon Manor Oxford
Day 5

Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway

This morning we transfer by coach to the village of Chinnor and board the charming steam-hauled Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway. This preserved heritage railway runs through the foothills of the Chilterns, past fantastic southern-English scenery. On board, we enjoy a 'mince pie special', with traditional festive treats, before touring the station facilities. This afternoon, we head to Waddesdon Manor, where there is time to wander around the grounds of the grand Victorian estate. Originally owned by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild, the country mansion was built in the style of a French châteaux from 1877 to 1883. As the sun sets, wander through the gardens and experience the delightful festive lights and artwork on display.

Day 6

Journey Home

After breakfast, your tour concludes and you are free to depart at your leisure. Alternatively, you could choose to explore Oxford further at your own pace, before making your way home.
