Travel across Asia on this suggested itinerary from Moscow to Beijing. Visit Irkutsk, Lake Baikal, and cross the Gobi Desert before arriving in China and taking in the sights from the top of the Great Wall. This tour also offers the chance to discover the hidden cultures of Mongolia.

Itinerary

Day 1 - London to Moscow

Take the Eurostar to Paris, self-transfer to Paris Gare de L`est. On arrival check in for the "Paris to Moscow" sleeper train, the second longest direct sleeper train in Europe, spanning 2164 miles. You'll spend two nights on board.

Day 2 - Sleeper Train

Journey through Germany and Poland.

Day 3 - Moscow

Arrive into Moscow late morning and enjoy a private transfer to a 4* hotel. Later take an early evening River cruise on the Radisson Yacht with transfers included.

Day 4 - Moscow

After breakfast take a guided walking tour, including the Kremlin & the red square. After Lunch take a tour of the famous Moscow metro stations.

Day 5 - Moscow

Enjoy free time in Moscow before a transfer to train station for a train in a private cabin to Kazan.

Day 6 - Kazan

On arrival into Kazan transfer to a 4-Star hotel with some free time before a guided city tour. During the City Tour around Kazan you will see the white stone walls of Kazan Kremlin; the Old Tatar Settlement with the first stone mosque -  the Al Mardjani Mosque; the legendary lake Kaban, the Tatar State Academic Theatre looks like a sailboat moored to the dock of the lake; Kremlevskaya Street with the main building of the Kazan Federal University and the Aleksandrovsky Passage; the Peter and Paul Cathedral; the Liberty Square with  the Opera and Ballet theatre and Concert hall; the church of the Exaltation of the Cross, where you can see the miracle-working of Our lady.

Day 7 - Yekaterinburg

Transfer to Kazan station for the train to Yekaterinburg in a private cabin. Arrive into Yekaterinburg late evening before transferring to your 4-Star hotel.

Day 8 - Yekaterinburg

Enjoy a morning city tour of Yekaterinburg, which starts at the hotel, and ends at the rail station for your next connection to Novosibirsk in a private cabin.

Day 9 - Novosibirsk

On arrival into Novosibirsk take a city excursion covering all the main city sights. You will see Novosibirsk Railway Station - the biggest station of the Trans-Siberian Railroad; Ascension Cathedral - the first building made of red brick; Krasny Prospect street - former Nikolay's avenue; Lenin Square - city centre with the biggest Russian theatre; old wooden houses on Gorkogo Str. are the oldest part of the city; St. Nicolas Chapel - the geographic centre of Russian Empire; river Ob' embankment and colourful Siberian farm-market.  After the city tour you will be transferred to the hotel.  

Day 10 - To Irkutsk

After breakfast enjoy some free time before being transferred to the station for the train journey to Irkutsk in a private cabin.

Day 11 - Irkutsk

Arrive in the evening into Irkutsk where you'll transfer to your hotel.

Day 12 - Listvyanka and Taltsy

Enjoy a full day tour to including a trip to Listvyanka and Taltsy. A trip to the wooden architecture museum Taltsy. In the museum you'll see the settlements of indigenous Siberian people of 17th-20th centuries. Some of the buildings presented in the museum were brought there from the villages that were flooded after building a dam in Irkutsk. Continue with trip to Listvyanka. Lunch with Baikal cuisine. Guided tour to the local Baikal museum that has a set of aquariums. There is one with the only mammal representative, the Baikal Seal, in it. Take a chair-lift to a nearby view point (included). There you'll get a chance to take panoramic pictures of Baikal from above. Enjoy your visit to a local 19th century wooden St.Nicolas church and a local fish market where you'll see a great variety of fish.

Day 13 - Ulan-Ude

This morning after breakfast transfer for the train to Ulan-Ude. A tour to see Ivolginskiy Datsan on arrival starts at the station and ends at the hotel. Ivolginsky datsan is the Buddhist Temple located 23 km from Ulan Ude city. The datsan was opened in 1945 as the only Buddhist spiritual centre of the USSR. It was the residence of the Central Spiritual Board of Buddhists of the USSR and later of the Buddhist Traditional Sangha of Russia, as well as that of Pandido Khambo lama, the head of the Russian Buddhists. 

Day 14 - Ulan-Bator

Free morning, before transferring to the train station for your connection to Ulan-Bator in a private cabin.

Day 15 - Ulan-Bator

On arrival into Ulan-Bator transfer to your 4-Star hotel. Enjoy a full day of sightseeing starts with a visit to Gandan Monastery, the biggest Buddhist Monastery in Ulaanbaatar where hundreds of people practice their daily worship. Then we visit to Zaisan Hill to view the city panorama. Lunch break. Then we continue our tour visiting the National Museum of Mongolia with impressive displays of Mongolian history and Sukhbaatar Square.  The evening program is a performance of Mongolian folk music and dance.

Day 16 - Gorkhi Terelj National Park

You are picked up from your hotel and driven to the east of the capital via Nalaikh, the copper mining town. Reach Genghis Khan statue and excursion around the statue. Then continue driving into the Baga Khentii Mountains. The Baga Khentii Mountains are within the bounds of the Gorkhi Terelj National Park. This park is a paradise for nature lovers with an abundance of wildflowers in the spring and summer months. On arrival, you head to a ger camp surrounded by a beautiful nature. Here, you have lunch and spend the afternoon hiking in the hills exploring interesting rock formations, visiting local meditation centre. In the afternoon, we drive back to Ulan-Bator and you are taken to your hotel. 

Day 17 - To Beijing

Early breakfast at the hotel, before being transferred to the station for your connection to Beijing in a private cabin.

Day 18 - Beijing

On arrival into Beijing transfer to your 4-Star hotel and you have free time to explore.

Day 19 - Beijing

A full day tour with seeing Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City and Temple of Heaven, Summer palace with lunch included.

Day 20 - Beijing

Full day to see The Great Wall of China, Mong Tomb and Secret Road with lunch included.

Day 21 - To London

Transfer to airport for your in-direct flights back to London.

Day 22 - London

Arrive back to the UK where your tour ends.
