Your Italian adventure begins today when you take your flight from London to Venice. On arrival in Venice you'll travel by water taxi to your chosen hotel.

Or, choose to take it easy on a two day rail journey. Beginning at London St Pancras you'll travel by Eurostar to Paris Nord. From Paris Gare du Lyon you'll take the train to Geneva and from Geneva to Montreux where you'll spend the night. The next day you'll take the train from Montreux to Brig, from Brig to Milan and from Milan to Venice.

Enjoy a free day in Venice today. Wander the narrow streets, stroll over the historic bridges, and take some time in one of the squares to relax with a coffee while the world goes by. Visit a museum or two and get better acquainted with the romantic water city by spending a while in one of its old cafes. Or, explore the city, and beyond, on one of our optional excursions, available at a supplement.

Day 3 - Venice to Florence by train

Venice to Florence by train

Make the most of your last free morning in Venice this morning, and go shopping for souvenirs or take your camera out to snap some pictures of those pretty canals, bridges, and the gothic architecture of the buildings all around the city. Then take your transfer, or walk, to the station for the highspeed train to Florence. Your train travels over lunchtime and takes just over two hours. From Venice you'll travel through Veneto, the wine region of Emilia-Romagna, and through the stunning northern Tuscany landscape, before arriving in beautiful Florence. On arrival you can walk to your nearby hotel. Choose between our 4* hotels, on a B&B basis.

Get to know Florence, the Italian city of art, today on your free day in the city. You don't even have to go to a gallery to see and experience the art of Florence, it's everywhere in the architecture and monuments around town, but if you do want to indulge in some art on display in a gallery, this is definitely the place to do it. When you've filled up on art, visit a food market or one of the city's traditional restaurants. Or, choose one of our optional excursions, available at a supplement.

Day 5 – Florence to Rome by train

Take some time to tick anything you haven't seen yet in Florence, off your list, before it's time to walk to the station to catch your train to Rome. You'll take a highspeed train from Florence, through the rolling Tuscan countryside, by avenues of Cypress trees, all the way to the eternal city of Rome. Your journey takes place over lunchtime and takes just under two hours. On arrival in Rome, you can walk to your nearby hotel. Choose between our 4* and 5* hotels, on a B&B basis.

Enjoy a free day in Rome today, by taking a leisurely stroll through the historic streets, stopping off at the squares for an Italian coffee, and walking the winding streets for some of the city's best gelato, before taking a late lunch at one of the many authentic Italian restaurants. Throw a coin in the Trevi Fountain and shop for souvenirs at the many shops and boutiques. Or, choose one of our supplementary optional excursions to get to know the city even better.

Enjoy your last free morning in Rome this morning, and do any lastminute shopping or enjoy a last Italian coffee in one of the city squares, before you take the train to Naples. Either walk or take an optional transfer to the station, where you'll board your highspeed train. Travelling over lunchtime the journey takes just over an hour. When you arrive in Naples, you'll be transferred to Sorrento or Sant'Agnello, where'll you'll be taken to your hotel. Choose one of our 4* or 5* hotels, on a B&B basis.

Today you have a free day in Sorrento, which you can spend getting to know the town a little better. Wander the little streets for souvenirs in some of the town's boutique shops and excellent wine merchants. Enjoy the incredible views over the Bay of Naples and take some time to sit with an Italian coffee in one of the squares and watch the locals go by. Or, choose one of our optional excursions, available at a supplement.

On your second free day in Sorrento, you can head to the peaceful marina and enjoy lunch beside the water. Wander along the marina with a gelato, sip a Limoncello in a nearby bar, or relax with an Italian coffee. Alternatively, choose one of our optional excursions and get to know the area a little better through its food and drink.

Day 10 – Naples to Sicily by train

Naples to Sicily by train

Following breakfast at your hotel this morning, you'll be transferred back to Naples station where you'll take the train south to Taormina. The next part of your journey is a truly fascinating one, as the train meets the train-ferry and drives directly onto the ferry to cross the Straits of Messina. This is one of the few places in the world where a train goes onto a ship for a crossing, and it's a unique experience. On arrival in Taormina you can make your own way to your hotel or choose an optional transfer. You'll stay in the Villa Diodoro on a B&B basis.

Enjoy a free day in Taormina today and get to know this stunning medieval city. Wander through the streets and take some time in the authentic cafes and bars to linger over a drink or two. Enjoy another free day in Taormina today to stroll the old streets a little further, do some shopping in the boutiques and try out some local dishes in one of the many quality restaurants. Take the cable car along the coast to visit some of the small bays and little islands not otherwise accessible, and sit and watch local life go by the town square. Or choose one of our optional excursions, available at a supplement.

Day 13 – Homeward Bound

Your incredible Italian adventure comes to its end today, when you're transferred from your hotel to Catania airport for your flight back to the UK.
