Departure Times

We write to all booked customers approximately 10 weeks prior to the start of their tour to advise the exact departure and return time for their particular group.

Day 1

To Amsterdam

After meeting at our St Pancras Departure Office, board the Eurostar to Brussels, continuing on to Amsterdam by Thalys service. Upon arrival in the iconic Dutch city, we transfer to our vessel, the stunning MS Amadeus Silver III. Here, we are greeted with a welcome cocktail and Captain's dinner before settling in for the evening.

Day 2

Discovering Amsterdam

This morning there is an optional guided tour of Amsterdam and the surrounding area, exploring the picturesque city by way of its myriad of canals. Alternatively, you can stay onboard to enjoy the facilities. This afternoon, our cruise continues as we pass through the stunning scenery of the Dutch Ijsselmeer.

Day 3

Onwards to Cologne

Our cruise arrives in the northern German city of Cologne this evening, famous for its iconic Cathedral. Here, you may like to join the optional city walk of this historical city or explore at your own pace.

Day 4

Along the Moselle

Our journey through the Rhineland continues as we pass into the breathtaking Moselle Valley. Cruising the waterways at a relaxing pace, we pass rolling vineyards and charming German towns on route to Cochem. A medieval town, famous for its looming Reichsburg castle, there is an optional city tour here and a chance to taste some of the region's delicious wine produce.

Day 5


Today we arrive in Koblenz, where there is an optional guided city tour. Located at the confluence between the Moselle and Rhine rivers, Koblenz is an ancient town with roots stretching back as far as the Romans. Now boasting a neo-classical centre, Koblenz is famous for its mighty Ehrenbreitstein Fortress, which has loomed over the city since the early 19th century.

Later we arrive in the charming town of Rüdesheim, a town synonymous with being one of the region's best winemaking areas You may wish to join the guided city walk of Rüdesheim. Should you choose to join the optional tour, you will later embark on a fascinating excursion to Siegfried's Mechanical Music Cabinet Museum; a wonderful museum dedicated to the art and history of the traditional music box.

Day 6

The towns of the Rhine

We arrive in Mannheim, where there is an optional coach tour to the historic city of Heidelberg, situated in the wooded valley of the River Neckar. One of Europe's most ancient cities, the remains of the 'Heidelberg Man' are said to be the oldest ever discovered in Europe at almost 200,000 years old.

From Mannheim, the cruise then arrives in Speyer, which boasts a beautiful Old Town and a UNESCO protected Cathedral. Explore the town on an optional guided tour before enjoying a Captain's gala dinner onboard our vessel.

Day 7

Onwards to Strasbourg

Today we arrive in the French city of Strasbourg, where there is an optional city tour. Highlights include the spectacular Notre Dame Cathedral, with its famous astronomical clock. The Cathedral has remained unchanged since the Middle Ages. Around the Cathedral clusters an impressive array of museums, cafés and restaurants. The Grand Ille (Large Island), a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the ancient heart of the city, with the vast main square, the Place Kléber, at its centre.

Day 8

Basel and Home

We arrive in the Swiss city of Basel this morning and disembark our vessel before transferring to the station to begin our journey home. From Basel, we head to Paris, continuing on by Eurostar to London St Pancras.
