Days 1-2

London to Berlin

We fly to Berlin today. Day 2 begins with a sightseeing tour of the city, followed by free time.

Days 3-4

The palaces of Postdam and to Dresden

A morning coach tour past the Wannsee Lakes brings us to Potsdam, a former imperial city with some magnificent examples of Baroque and Neoclassical architecture, whose entire centre is a UNESCO World Heritage site. During the day we visit the inspirational Sanssouci Park. 'Sanssouci' means 'carefree' and the park was designed as a leisure retreat for Frederick the Great.

We travel by rail to Dresden on Day 4, enjoying a guided walking tour on arrival. We see the city's famous sights including the Baroque Zwinger Palace, the grand Semper Opera House, Brühl Terrace and the rebuilt and reconsecrated Church of Our Lady.

Moritzburg Castle
Days 5-6

Moritzburg Palace and Colditz Castle

Today we embark on a vintage steam train ride to visit the Palace of Moritzburg. After a guided tour and time to explore the stunning grounds, we return to Dresden. Our coach excursion on Day 6 is to Colditz, built high on a crag above the sleepy town is the castle, a Renaissance fortress that has served as a hunting lodge and a hospital in its long history. However, it is most famous for being the site of the infamous 'bad boys' camp, a maximum security prisoner of war facility during the Second World War.

Days 7-9


We take the train through the Czech Republic to Prague, enjoying a sightseeing tour on Day 8. Day 9 is free for you to continue exploring charming Prague under your own steam. Perhaps you'd like to visit the excellent Prague Zoo, see the Lesser Quarter, or climb up the Petrin Tower, an observation tower offering tremendous views over the city.

Day 10

Prague to London

Departing from Prague, we transfer to Prague's airport for our return flight to London. On arrival, our tour concludes.
