Days 1-2 - London and Denver

Today we fly from London Heathrow to Denver, meeting our local Tour Manager on arrival. On Day 2, we board the Georgetown Loop Railroad, a narrow-gauge line that includes horseshoe curves and 4 bridges that span Clear Creek. Later, we return to our hotel in Denver for the night.

Days 3-5 - Little Bighorn and Yellowstone National Park

Today, our destination is Buffalo, where we enjoy some free time. On Day 4 we travel by coach to the site of the 1876 Battle of Little Bighorn for a guided tour. Here, armies led by General Custer on one side and Lakota warriors on the other, fought one of the many battles of the Great Sioux War. Afterwards, our coach continues to Billings before arriving in the heart of Yellowstone National Park where we stay at the Canyon Village Lodge.

On Day 5 we enjoy a guided tour of Yellowstone, led by a local ranger. Famed for its incredible scenery, varied wildlife, we make stops at the Yellowstone Caldera and Fishing Bridge, a popular fishing spot known for abundance of cutthroat trout.

Day 6 - Grand Teton National Park and Jackson Hole

Today, we travel by coach to Grand Teton National Park, where we enjoy entrance to the visitor centre and the park itself. Later, we continue to Jackson Hole, a valley boasting an Old West atmosphere that sits near the border of Idaho. On the way to our hotel, we make scenic stops at Jenny Lake and the Chapel of Transfiguration, a small log chapel built in 1925.

Grand Teton National Park
Days 7-8 - Snake River and a chuckwagon dinner

We drive to Moose this morning, where we take a 'float' trip along Snake River, cruising through the very heart of Grand Teton National Park as we enjoy an informative talk from our ranger guide. This evening we visit a local restaurant for a chuckwagon dinner - a traditional cowboy meal of beef and chicken, foil-wrapped potatoes, beans, old-fashioned spice cake and chunky apple sauce, all served with real ranch coffee or lemonade.

On Day 8 we drive to Garden City, Utah, where we have free time for lunch. Garden City sits on the shores of Bear Lake, a freshwater lake on the Idaho-Utah border. Later, we arrive at our overnight hotel in Salt Lake City.

Salt Lake City
Days 9-10 - Bryce Canyon and Antelope Canyon

Our coach transfers us to Beaver today, where we have free time for lunch in the town. This afternoon, we enjoy a sightseeing tour of Bryce Canyon led by our local Tour Manager. This national park is distinctive due to geological structures called 'hoodoos', formed by weathering and stream erosion. Our coach continues to Kanab where we check into our hotel for the night.

We take an incredible Navajo-led tour of Antelope Canyon on Day 10, one of the region's most mysterious canyons thanks to its enigmatic origins. During the tour, we enjoy traditional Navajo tales and learn about the history and geology of this unique slot canyon, from our Navajo guide. We continue to Page where we are free for lunch before making our way to Flagstaff.

Days 11-14 - Grand Canyon, Phoenix, and London

Today we visit the Grand Canyon by rail, boarding the Grand Canyon Railroad for a scenic journey to the South Rim. We travel in vintage carriages hauled by historic locomotives to one of the most scenic areas of the Grand Canyon, where we can see for miles across this outstanding natural wonder (weather permitting). Later, we transfer to our hotel, Maswik Lodge.

We board the heritage Verde Canyon Railway on Day 12 for a round trip in refurbished carriages that date back to 1912. Take in the breathtaking scenery of towering red rock formations, and steep ravines, home to a menagerie of wildlife including snakes, mule deer, and even mountain lions. Later, we drive to Phoenix.

After a free morning on Day 13, we transfer to the airport for our overnight flight back to London Heathrow, arriving on Day 14.
