MV Discovery has a small capacity of just 700 passengers and offers a more exclusive cruising experience. Unlike most cruise ships, the size of MV Discovery allows it to enter into many of the small ports and harbours in the destinations we visit.
Public Rooms and Facilities
MV Discovery offers a comprehensive range of leisure facilities to help you make the most of your free time. Many passengers relax after a day's sightseeing in one of the lounges. Each lounge offers something different; the Palm Court is popular in the daytime thanks to its panoramic views of the passing scenery, whereas the Carousel Lounge hosts colourful shows and entertainment after dinner. You can enjoy a relaxing drink with easy-listening music in the Hideaway Bar and retire to the Discovery Lounge for late-night cabaret and the opportunity to dance the night away. The ship also features a health and beauty centre with a fully-equipped gym, ladies and gents saunas, hairdresser's salon and a massage & beauty treatment room. The ship also has two swimming pools, two whirlpools and a pool bar. Other leisure facilities include a well-stocked library, an internet café, a popular shopping arcade and a card room.
Dining on board
Dining on board is an experience to be savoured, with many fantastic dishes to experience. The main dining room is the elegant Seven Continents Restaurant, where you can enjoy a varied choice of cuisine at each meal - from full English breakfasts to leisurely five-course lunches and delightful dinners. Breakfast and lunch are generally served on an open-seating basis, meaning you can eat whenever you choose, and dinner takes place over two fixed-time settings each evening. In addition to the main dining arrangements, the buffet style Lido restaurant offers the chance to dine outside on the Sun Deck when the occasion and weather permits.
